ATO Records will release a tribute album to the late John Denver in February with performances by artists from a variety of genres.
The release date commemorates the 15th anniversary of the singer’s death and the 40th anniversary of the release of Rocky Mountain High.
The Music is You: A Tribute to John Denver will contain performances of some of the singer’s best known songs and a few deep cuts by the likes of Dave Matthews, Lucinda Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, My Morning Jacket, J Mascis, Brandi Carlisle and Train.
A portion of the proceeds from the album will go to environmental initiatives in Denver’s name.
