Jon Stevens is about to embark on a Dead Daisies American tour with his leg in plaster. Stevens broke his leg and dislocated his thumb just a week before the tour was to begin.
Australian supergroup The Dead Daisies are in the USA to tour with Alice In Chains and Jane’s Addiction.
“It’s been so exciting getting set for The Dead Daisies US tour. Sincere gratitude for all the well wishes but can you stop with the “break a leg” coz, guess what? I broke my leg and dislocated the Maori strum thumb on a recent fishing trip in North Queensland,” Jon said on the Dead Daisies Facebook page.
Stevens believes in the showbiz saying “the show must go on”. “But as we say In the good old Rock n Roll tradition… the show must go on. The voice still works so I have no excuse to stay home tending the sheep… Ya gotta laugh”.
Stevens and David Lowy put together The Dead Daisies with various members of other bands including Guns N Roses and Thin Lizzy. The Dead Daisies are Jon Stevens (INXS/Noiseworks) and David Lowy (The Angels), Americans Richard Fortus (Guns ’N’ Roses/Thin Lizzy), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake), Alex Carapetis (Nine Inch Nails/Julian Casablancas) and Dizzy Reed (Guns ’N’ Roses).
The Dead Daisies will perform on The Uproar Festival with Alice In Chains and Jane’s Addiction starting Friday August 9 in Scranton, Pa.
