Josh Pyke and Megan Washington are both featured writers on the new Wendy Matthews album ‘The Welcome Fire’.
‘The Welcome Fire’ is the first album of original material from Wendy Matthews in 12 years.
Pyke co-wrote the song ‘Everything I’ve Done Wrong’ with Wendy while Washington co-wrote ‘Amelia.
Wendy also wrote with Mark Sholtez, Rod McCormack, John Castle, Kim Richey, Anthony Egizil and David Musumeci for the album. It was produced by Castle (The Cat Empire, Dan Parsons, The Drones).
‘The Welcome Fire’ was mixed by Paul Lani (U2, David Bowie).
Wendy’s biggest album ‘Lily’ sold over 500,000 copies in Australia. She recorded her signature song ‘The Day You Went Away’ in the mid 90s. The single sold over 300,000 copies.
Wendy Matthews ‘The Welcome Fire’ will be released on August 23 through Fanfare.
