Judas Priest Battle Eurythmics For Hall of Fame Spot

There’s a horse race for the fifth position on the fan’s ballot for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame between The Eurythmics and Judas Priest.

Fans get one vote for the inductees that will be added in with all of the regular voting members of the Hall of Fame. The top five artists on the fan ballot (rockhall.com/fan-vote/2018-fan-vote), receive single votes in the selection process.

There is little doubt that the fan favorite is Bon Jovi who has garnered just short of 354,000 votes so far. The Moody Blues are second followed by Dire Straits and The Cars.

It’s the final spot that seems to be in question. The Eurythmics have seen their 6,200 vote lead over Judas Priest the day after the nominees were announced cut to just 2,700 on the latest tally.

Many say that Judas Priest, along with Black Sabbath, should be members of the hall representing early metal music but, up until this year, the band had not even been nominated. This is the eighteenth year that they have been eligible.

It also is not looking good, at least as far as the fans are concerned, for the two first-year-eligible nominees, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine. Radiohead is in 10th place with less than half of the fifth place Eurythmics. Rage is even lower in 12th place with six thousand less votes.

The current vote as of 3:30 PM ET on October 23:

Bon Jovi – 353973
Moody Blues – 281673
Dire Straits – 212675
The Cars – 185728
Eurythmics – 145805
Judas Priest – 143132
The Zombies – 123233
Depeche Mode – 113988
J. Geils Band – 112289
Radiohead – 69545
Nina Simone – 68656
Rage Against the Machine – 63474
Kate Bush – 55420
LL Cool J – 45112
The MC5 – 38228
Sister Rosetta Tharpe – 38022
Link Wray – 31499
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan – 30652
The Meters – 21932

Toto Returns To Melbourne #Review

Toto’s 2025 setlist focuses on the heritage of the band. The setlist was interesting. Compared to how it was curated for Australia in 2019 this time Toto kept to the albums of the 1900s. Mind you, there were no complaints from the audience for doing that. The biggest hits came from those early years.
