At the moment, it looks like Justice Crew could be heading for a ninth week at No.1 with “Que Sera”.
However, some digital retailers have Sia at No.1 (as of today) with “Chandelier”, helped by her pending album out next week and the recent Voice cover of the song.
Nico & Vinz were also covered on The Voice this week by Johnny, and they could climb back into the top three with “Am I Wrong” (HP-2, TW-5), whilst The Madden Brothers should retain their Top 5 status with “We are Done” (TW-4), which they will be singing on the show next week, so it could climb; whilst Tovi Lo, Mr. Probz, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran with “Don’t” (TW-9) should all be within the Top 10 this coming weekend.
Milky Chance and “Stolen Dance” (TW-10) could climb back up within the ten, and we might also see a recent guest rapper make her first solo entry to the Top 10 this weekend, as Charli XCX could leap up with “Boom Clap” (TW-33) from ‘The Fault in Out Stars’ soundtrack. The Vamps could land just outside of the Top 10 with their current track “Somebody to You” (TW-20) and the highest new entry could come within the Top 20, the new Hilltop Hoods track featuring guest rapper Maverick Sabre with the first single from their forthcoming album “Walking Under Stars”, the song “Won’t Let You Down” interpolates the Ph.D song “I Won’t Let You Down” (HP-5, peaked Sept 1981) which was more recently covered by Kate Ceberano (HP-50, peaked Aug 1999).
The Voice: Live Finals: This weeks show should see a lot of songs entering the charts (YouTube have no uploads for this weeks songs as yet, so no links in here). At the moment we could see a Top 20 entry for two acts, Gabriele & Cecilia with their haunting version of “I Dreamed a Dream” (most recent by Susan Boyle), whilst ZK also did an eerie version of “Imagine” (John Lennon). This weeks highest entry from the show was Sabrina Batshon with “Chandelier” (TW-39, which could still hold a Top 50 this coming weekend), and her version of “Empire” by Shakira, which could also see the original enter in the lower reaches of the charts, the first time it would enter also. Jackson Thomas did a cover of “Kiss from a Rose” (Seal), Isaac McGovern did “Iris” (Goo Goo Dolls, original could also enter within the Top 60) and Johnny Rollins sang “Am I Wrong” (Nico & Vinz), all of which could enter within the Top 40-50 region. Kat Jade’s version of “Dark Horse” (Katy Perry), Holly Tapp with “Single Ladies” (Beyonce) and Robbie Balmer’s rendition of “The Scientist” (Coldplay, which could also return’s within the Top 70) could all see Top 60 entries. Further acts from The Voice that might chart this week are Anja Nissen with “Irreplaceable” (Beyonce), Elly Oh with “Mama Do” (Pixie Lott), Mat Verevis and “Rocket Man” (Elton John), with Frank Lakoudis and his rendition of “American Woman” (Lenny Kravitz version) just outside at the moment. There is also “Stay” by Rihanna which could return after it was sung on ‘The Voice: Kids’ on Sunday night.
Will.i.am and Cody Wise climbed to No.41 this week with “It’s My Birthday”, which could climb into the Top 40 this weekend, as too Andy Grammer with “Back Home” (TW-40). The I Touch Myself Project could see their rendition of “I Touch Myself” chart this week, whilst the new Sheppard track “Something’s Missing” and the new Stafford Brothers song with T.I. called “This Girl” could all land Top 50 debuts this coming week, whilst Jeremih could climb into the fifty with “Don’t Tell ‘em” (TW-54).
Sitting within the 51-60 region at the moment is the new Busta Rhymes track featuring Eminem entitled “Calm Down” which contains a very interesting loop of the House of Pain track “Jump Around”, whilst another teaming within the same region is by Chris Brown with Usher and Rick Ross entitled “New Flame”, and Will Sparks has Troi lending vocals to his new dance track “When the Lights Go Out”, and One Day could also enter with their song “Love Me Less” (Top 70). Further down we could see an entry come via Shannon Noll with “We Only Live Once”.
Albums: At the moment it’s a three way race between this weeks No.1 entry of “x” for Ed Sheeran, alongside the self-titled debut album for local foursome 5 Seconds of Summer and the new album for Hillsong under the name Hillsong Worship, the album entitled “No Other Name”, which would becomes the churches third No.1 on the ARIA Albums chart, and two versions of the set are selling high at the moment (regular and deluxe editions).
Coldplay should retain their Top 5 status with “Ghost Stories”, and also keeping their Top 10 places should be the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack, Lana Del Rey, 360 and current tourist Keith Urban, whilst Chet Faker with “Built on Glass” (TW-26) could leap back into the ten. We might also see the Alison Wonderland EP “Calm Down” either debut within or just outside of the Top 10.
Kylie’s performance on ‘The Voice: Live Finals’ on Monday could help boost the new 21 track compilation “The Best of Kylie Minogue” into either the Top 20 or 30, with further entries coming via soundtracks for “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (Top 50), “Jersey Boys” (Top 70) and “22 Jump Street” (Top 100). Seether could land a Top 50 debut with their new set “Isolate and Medicate”, with lower entries coming from George Ezra with “Wanted on Voyage”, Zed’s Dead with “Somewhere Else” (both Top 70), Every Time I Die with “From Parts Unknown” and Total Control with “Typical System” (both Top 80 possibly).
