Justin Bieber faded into the crowd in New York City in the early hours of Monday after joining fellow Pokemon Go gamers to hunt down coveted characters.
Bieber is among the celebrities who have become hooked on the popular mobile app, in which gamers are encouraged to go out and ‘catch’ the digital creatures, and he used his down time in the Big Apple to chase Pokemon near Central Park with his friends.
His pal Alfredo Flores shared one clip of the singer running across a street with a group of other Pokemon-obsessed fans in their search of the rare Gyarados creature.
“When #Gyrados (sic) decides to pop up across the street from Central Park and all hell breaks loose!” Flores captioned the footage, adding, “#GottaCatchEmAll”, and tagging Bieber in the post.
Justin’s manager Scooter Braun was also on hand to witness the Pokemon mayhem, and he was surprised no one recognised the Boyfriend hitmaker.
“This is amazing,” he commented alongside his own clip of the crowd rush. “@justinbieber and @alfredoflores in nyc looking for Pokemon and no one looks at who is next to them.”
Bieber is currently in New York to wrap up the North American leg of his Purpose World Tour with two dates at the fabled Madison Square Garden venue on Monday and Tuesday night.
The singer isn’t the only star to become obsessed with Pokemon Go – Demi Lovato has also been actively playing while on tour with Nick Jonas, while the Jealous hitmaker’s brother Joe, rocker John Mayer, and model Chrissy Teigen have all shared posts on social media about their gaming progress, too.
