Kanye West’s feud with Jimmy Kimmel seems to be well and truly over, as the rapper has agreed to appear on his talk show on Thursday.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host announced the Stronger rapper’s appearance by writing, “On Thursday night, HURRICANE KANYE strikes @JimmyKimmelLive! @KanyeWest,” on Twitter on Tuesday night. Kanye retweeted the post.
Kanye, who rarely gives interviews these days, last appeared on the show in October 2013 to clear the air following their feud on social media.
It began weeks before, when the comedian made a parody sketch on his show, which made fun of the hip-hop star’s BBC interview in which he declared himself the “biggest” rock star.
Kanye responded by launching into a furious tirade at Kimmel on Twitter, which began with, “JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS.”
“JIMMY KIMMEL, I DON’T TAKE IT AS A JOKE,” he continued. “JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES … OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD P**SY IN YOUR LIFE…”
The rapper also branded Kimmel a “manipulative media mutherf**ker”, created the hashtag #AllDisrespectToJimmyKimmel, and called him demanding he apologise for the skit publicly on his show.
Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian read one of Kanye’s messages as part of a special edition of the Mean Tweets segment in honour of Kimmel’s 50th birthday in November (17).
News of the Heartless hitmaker’s appearance comes after late-night host James Corden told Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner on Tuesday night that he’d cancelled on Carpool Karaoke twice, expanding on comments he’d made to GQ in 2016.
“He has cancelled twice, maybe even three times,” he said during a game of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts. “He cancelled once as I was turning the corner to his house. I was in a car and by the time the call finished I was sat outside of his house.
“He sent me these incredible flowers in a cube (to apologise). A cube of flowers, which I had never seen it before, and he sent me a pair of Yeezys… People were like, ‘Whoa! They’re so expensive!’ And I was like, yeah, they cost my show $45,000.”
