Kanye West has reportedly been charged with criminal battery for allegedly attacking a photographer.
The rapper was involved in a scuffle with paparazzo Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport on July 19.
Video footage of the incident shows Kanye asking for the man to stop talking to him as he’s followed to his car by several photographers before a physical altercation unfolds.
According to TMZ, prosecutors have filed criminal charges, including battery and attempted grand theft, both misdemeanours.
If convicted on the charges, he will reportedly face a maximum of one year in jail.
The rapper’s arraignment is scheduled for October 10.
Celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is representing the alleged victim in a civil lawsuit stemming from the incident.
Last month, Allred held a press conference in which she claimed her client suffered injuries in the altercation forcing him to rely on a cane to walk.
Her client is suing for assault, battery, negligence and interference with his civil rights.
Kanye has a history of clashing with photographers. He emotionally exploded on a paparazzo in early July, forbidding the man to ever speak to him.
He has also been subject to intense scrutiny since becoming a father for the first time after the rapper’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian gave birth to their daughter North West, nicknamed Nori, in July.
Kanye has yet to comment on the reported charges.
