Karnivool’s ‘Asymmetry’ sold 15,176 copies in Australia last week making it the forth fastest selling album of 2013 and the second fastest selling Australian album for first week sales.
‘Asymmetry’ has been a faster seller for singer Ian Kenny that his other band Birds of Tokyo. Birds of Tokyo’s ‘March Fires’ sold 13,013 units in week one back in March making it now the seventh fastest for the year. Kenny describes his success as a “nutball year”.
Bliss N Eso ‘Circus In The Sky’ is the fastest selling Australian album of 2013 with 20808 sales in the first week.
Australia’s 2013 X Factor winner Harrison Craig (not to be confused with Romania’s 2013 X Factor contestant Craig Harrison) sold 13,167 in his first week.
Ian Kenny made chart history yesterday when both Karnivool’s ‘Asymmetry’ and Birds of Tokyo’s ‘March Fires’ debuted at number one. Kenny is the only person ever to debut at number one in two different active bands in the same year.
