Perth heavy alt-rock masters Karnivool will be playing new tunes during their first tour in over a year.

The band have been busy while off the Aussie roads, certainly (not counting side projects FloatingMe and Birds Of Tokyo). They played four festivals in four days in Europe, played to 10,000 fans in India, and shot a DVD (which is edited now and will be released mid-year).

They’ve also been working on their long-awaited third album in a Perth studio, which will be the follow-up to their ARIA Chart number two album Sound Awake from 2009.

So fans will get a taste of their new nu-prog during their forthcoming Melodias Frescas (or ‘Fresh Sounds’) Tour which circles the nation.

They’ll be bringing Melbourne’s fuzz rock masters Redcoats, and Sydney’s instrumental post-rockers sleepmakeswaves along for the ride (although not in Dampier or Bunbury).

Tickets for all shows are available now from karnivool.com.au
