Katie Noonan will become a radio presenter this weekend when she takes to the microphone to host the ‘Sunday Morning’ program on ABC Classical this Sunday.
Katie will present the three hour program with music by music by Mendelssohn, Brahms, Rameau, Australian composers Graeme Koehne and Ross Edwards, and – in celebration of his centenary year – Benjamin Britten.
‘I have grown up listening to ABC Classic FM and am thrilled and honoured to be joining the team behind the mic,” Katie said in a statement. “ABC Classic FM has educated and excited my ears for many years and I’m incredibly proud to be a small part of such a quality institution.”
Katie is one of Australia’s most diverse artists, fronting the indie band George, recording with classical guitarist Karin Schaupp and collaborating with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. She is a four times ARIA Award winner and six times platinum selling artist.
ABC Classic FM Manager Richard Buckham says, ‘We are delighted to welcome Katie Noonan as our guest and as your host for a great selection of music in our Sunday Morning show on 18 August. Katie’s association with the Sydney Dance Company and their new production Les Illuminations is a wonderful way to add to our celebration of Britten’s centenary year on ABC Classic FM.’
Katie Noonan presents Sunday Morning on ABC Classic FM this Sunday, August 18 between 9am and midday.
