The 14-month marriage of Katy Perry and Russell Brand has come to an end.

Brand filed the papers for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (December 30, 2011).
Katy is listed under her real name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.
Rumours of the split surfaced on Christmas Day when the couple spent the day apart, Katy in Hawaii and Russell in London. Katy was not wearing a wedding ring.
Russell appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show on December 2 and said, “I’m happily married. I’m married to Katy”. Perry was on the same show only last month and told Ellen she and Russell would love to have children.
In November, Brand’s mother Barbara was tweeting about how much she was looking forward to spending Christmas with her son and daughter-in-law. Katy was talking about flying her family to London for the holiday.
Ironically, Katy Perry’s latest single is called ‘The One That Got Away’.
