Katy Steele has a music video for ‘Where’s The Laughter’.
‘Where’s The Laughter’ previews Katie’s new album ‘Human’, out in October.
Tristan Jalieh directed the video for Katie in Melbourne. “I really feel in love with Tristan’s aesthetic earlier this year, so I was so super excited to work with him so closely. I’ve never really had so much trust before with an artist/director so it was definitely the most seamless video I’ve made. We tried to keep things worldly and raw as it suits the feeling of the song,” Katie said in a statement.
“The night before the shoot I had black spray paint in one hand customizing the leather jacket and patches of sequins in the other for my jeans. I always seem to work like that, leave things right till the last second, but somehow it seems to work out. The styling was completely spontaneous but ending up working perfectly for Tristan’s aesthetic …”
Katie wrote the song in different cities around the world then recorded it in Perth with producer Matt Gio at RADA Studios. The track was then mixed by Eric J Dubowsky (Flume, Chet Faker, Wafia).
‘Human’ will be released on October 21.
