Ke$ha’s New Mission: “Resurrect Rock And Roll”

Ke$ha has said that her new goal is to bring rock and roll back from the dead for her next album.

The glitter-spattered pop guttersnipe told MTV News, “I feel like I don’t necessarily agree, but people say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music.

“That’s the goal,” she stipulated, “We’ll see what happens. That’s a very ambitious and lofty goal, but that’s my goal.”

Contrary to this stance, she also said that her new music is likely to be more vulnerable.

“I have learned over the past three years of doing this that being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak,” she mused.

“I very much want to be seen as a strong woman, but I realize that vulnerability can also be a strength. So on my next record, you are going to hear probably a little more of that. I’m not going to make an acoustic, sad entire record.”

Then again, if anyone’s heard her recent output, they’d expect confusion.

Her last two offerings have been: remixes of her tune ‘Sleazy’ with guest spots from rap royalty Lil Wayne, T.I., Wiz Khalifa and Andre 3000 and an emotional, tear-stained acoustic cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right’ for Amnesty International’s Chimes of Freedom charity tribute compilation.

She’s a complex woman.
