Kesha Claims She Was Offered Freedom If She Lied About Rape

Kesha has revealed she was offered freedom from her Sony contract if she agreed to lie about her alleged abuse at the hands of mentor and producer Dr. Luke.

Kesha took to Instagram on Saturday and gave fans an update on her ongoing legal drama with the hitmaker.

Alongside a selfie of herself, looking barefaced and fragile, she wrote: “So. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie.

“I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”

Kesha filed suit against Dr. Luke in 2013, claiming her physically and emotionally abused her. The producer, who has been working with the singer for the past decade, has denied her allegations and countersued the star and her mother.

Kesha lost a bid to end her contract with Sony in February (16).

A New York Supreme Court judge shut down her request for a preliminary injunction that would have allowed her to record music outside the deal, which Sony executives picked up from Dr. Luke.

Last month (Mar16), the singer’s legal team filed an appeal.

Kesha claims the Sony contract restricts her ability to record with anyone other than Dr. Luke.

The producer disputes this and continued to stand his ground via a statement from his spokesperson to Rolling Stone on Sunday (03Apr16).

It reads: “The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. That’s because all the evidence – including Kesha’s own videotaped sworn testimony – show her allegations are false.

“The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this ‘incident’ supposedly happened.

“Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones. We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies.”
