Kevin Borich and Russell Morris have recorded a song together. ‘Call A Friend’ will be released in January.
‘Call A Friend’ addresses the growing issue of mental health issues in the music industry.
“I’ve worked with quite a few roadies over time who are now hitting very hard times due to the demise of the live music scene now accelerated by the relatively new lockout laws.” Borich said in a statement. “This is in the mental health domain and affects a vast range of people struggling to keep their heads above it all particularly indigenous youth, farmers and other remote community members, emergency service workers and volunteers lest we forget our returned services men and women from active duty.”
“All too often people have taken their own lives,” he continues. “That’s where this song hits home. In this age of technology that has led to our current era of emotionless tap and go text messaging that lacks any form of human warmth and care, the sound an old friends voice can elevate the soul as does this song”.
Kevin Borich will perform the track at Woodford Folk Festival heading into New Year.
