Austereo’s crown jewel 2DAYFM has been rendered a headless corpse following the first radio survey of 2014, which has placed KIIS 1065 Sydney’s number one FM station.
KIIS 1065 delivered a jump from 4.9 to 8.8 ratings points in the survey following the acquisition of Kyle & Jackie O from opposition 2DAYFM.
The KIIS breakfast figure went up 6 points from 3.3 to 9.3 making the Australian Radio Network the most powerful FM force in Sydney. Sister station WSFM also delivered a 9.3 breakfast figure making the two ARN stations the top rating FM stations in Sydney.
2DAYFM’s all star line-up featuring Spice Girl Mel B, Bardot singer and actress Sophie Monk, comedian Merrick Watts and presenter Jules Lund failed to attract an audience and say a drop from Kyle & Jackie O’s last survey of 10.4 down 6.6 points to 3.8.
Triple J breakfast now has a bigger audience that 2DAYFM. It rated 4.4. 2DAYFM has the lowest rating commercial FM breakfast show in Sydney and falls below 2CH in audience numbers.
Austereo also failed to increase audience with its other Sydney station Triple M. Triple M Sydney fell from 5.7 to 4.9 in the current survey.
