Kings of Leon’s Jared Followill says the group are ready to start work on a new album.
The rocker has revealed plans are in place for their sixth studio record.
Although he wouldn’t be drawn on an exact time scale for returning to the recording studio, he promised the band is focused on producing new material.
“We’ve been meeting with producers every day so we’re starting to get the ball rolling on album six.” he told BBC Radio 1. “I don’t know what I can say, but we’re definitely planning on starting the record some point in the near future.”
Kings of Leon’s last album, Come Around Sundown, was released in 2010.
Jared has been working with rocker Nick Brown under the name Smoke and Jackal.
He believes this experience has given him new inspiration for a Kings of Leon record.
“Even doing the side project got my creative juices flowing again and just doing something completely different, I feel like it can bring more creativity to our band,’ he explained.
Jared went on to reveal that his brother Caleb has also been motivated to pen new tunes.
“Caleb has been writing a lot, and yeah, I think it’s going to go really well,’ he added.
