Kiss released their 11th album ‘Dynasty’ on 23 May, 1979. On 23 May, 2019, exactly 40 years to the day, a Melbourne dynasty of musos and singers will gather to perform the complete album from start to finish.

The band is Dave Leslie (The Baby Animals), Stu Rudd (The Superjesus), Travis Dragani (The Superjesus), Matt McAuliffe (Bruce Kulick and Mike Tramp band) and Paul Drennan (Bruce Kulick and Mike Tramp band).

Add singers Justin Murphy, Jimmy Cupples, Laura Davidson, Matt Bradshaw and Mat MacAuliffe and ‘Dynasty’ will be played out from beginning to end.

Dynasty was:

I Was Made For Lovin’ You
2,000 Man
Sure Know Something
Dirty Livin’
Charisma
Magic Touch
Hard Times
X-Ray Eyes
Save Your Love

‘Dynasty’ happened as the Kiss line-up became unstable. Peter Criss only played on one track (Dirty Livin’). Anton Fig (who will be in Australia with Joe Bonamassa later this year, played on all others.

‘Dynasty’ was a much bigger album in Australia than the USA and UK. It reached number two in Australia, number nine in the USA and number 50 in the UK.

Australia was the only country in the world to generate two Top 10 hits from the album. ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ reached no 2 Australia, no 11 USA and no 50 UK).

‘Sure Know Something’ reached no 5 Australia, no 47 in the USA and failed to chart in the UK.

The Kiss Dynasty anniversary night will include the album played live, a second set of Kiss classics from between 1974 and 1977 and opening act ‘Dressed To Chill’.
