The album’s original producer Bob Ezrin as pulled the original ‘Destroyer’ tapes from the vaults and remixed the entire album “enhancing the sound and bringing out its rich texture and vibrancy, while keeping the integrity of the original recording intact”.

‘Destroyer’ was the Kiss album to go platinum in the USA. The album featured ‘Detroit Rock City’ as well as the surprise hit ‘Beth’, a ballad written and sung by drummer Peter Criss.

The new version of ‘Destroyer’ will also feature the cover originally intended for the album. ‘Destroyer: Resurrected’ will feature a brown cover with the band in their Alive costumes standing in front o rubble in burning ruins.

Originally their record label thought the cover was too violent looking and settled for a tamer ‘blue’ version..

‘Destroyer: Resurrected’ will also feature the bonus track ‘Sweet Pain’ alternative version which has a different guitar solo to the original album version.

Universal will release the new album on August 17.
