Spiderbait’s Kram has written and recorded the soundtrack for the new Australian movie ‘Love Is Now’.
‘Love Is Now’ stars Eamon Farren (Chained, Red Dog, Carlotta), Claire Van Der Boom (The Square, Red Hill, ‘Hawaii Five-0’) and Anna Torv (‘The Secret Life of Us’, ‘Fringe’). The movie plots the relationship between the experienced photographer Audrey (Van Der Boom9 and newbie snapper Dean (Farren).
Kram met the movie’s director Jim Lounsbury and producer Behren Shultz when they made a documentary about the last Spiderbait album. “They asked if I would be interested in doing the soundtrack,” Kram said. “Jim was a big fan of my album Mix Tape and I’d always wanted to compose music/songs for film so I was up for it.”
The soundtrack was recorded in Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay during 2014 while Spiderbait were on tour. “Playing all the instruments and doing all the singing on everything as well is a big part of the overall sound,” Kram says. “I wanted to be absorbed by the whole project.”
Kram has also been working with Aussie band Stonefield, producing their next album.
The ‘Love Is Now’ soundtrack is out now.
