Kris Kristofferson and Trace Adkins are part of the cast for the new western Hickok which will be released in July by Cinedigm and Status Media.
Based on the life of Wild Bill Hickock, Luke Hemsworth stars as the infamous lawman and gunslinger with Bruce Dern as Doc Rivers O’Rourke, Adkins as saloon owner Phil Poe and Kristofferson as George Knox, the mayor of Abilene, Kansas.
Others in the cast include Cameron Richardson (Mattie), Kaiwi Lyman-Mersereau (John Wesley Hardin) and Robert Catrini (Sherif Akers). The film is directed by Timmothy Woodward, Jr. (Dead Ringer) and written by Michael Lanahan.
Kristofferson has been acting since 1971 with titles including Cisco Pike, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Blume in Love, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, A Star is Born, Blade and Planet of the Apes.
Adkins has 24 credits as an actor including The Lincoln Lawyer, Deepwater Horizon and Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story.
Hickok will be released in select cities on July 7 with same day availability On-Demand.
