Remember Mac Daddy and Daddy Mac and their 1992 hit ‘Jump’? They were 11 years old when the song went to number one in the USA and Australia and reached number 2 in the UK. Remember the backward jeans?
They had a follow-up with ‘Warm It Up’ (#13 USA, #21 Aus, #16 UK) and then it was pretty much over except for scrapping the US chart two more times with ‘Alright’ (1993) and ‘Tonite’s The Night’ (1995).
Chris Kelly and Chris Smith are 32 tears old now. They will reform as Kris Kross in Atlanta to mark the 20th anniversary of So So Def Recordings, their label founded by Jermaine Dupri.
Durpi discovered the two boys singing in an Atlanta Mall. Within two years they were touring the world with Michael Jackson.
The reunion was so significant that it was made in Atlanta at the Atlanta City Hall with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed in attendance.
The show is scheduled for February 23.
