Kylie Minogue has described headlining the BBC Proms in the Park event on Saturday (08.09.12) as a “magical” experience.
The ‘All The Lovers’ hitmaker headlined the concert in London’s Hyde Park, which was part of the annual Proms end of season celebrations, and she admits she loved every minute of it.
She tweeted after the concert: “#lovers I still can’t get over last night @bbcproms. It was magical. Thanks to all involved (sic)”
Kylie performed her hits such as ‘On A Night Like This’ and ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, accompanied by the Royal Choral Society and the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Richard Balcombe.
Tenor Alfie Boe and vocal group Il Divo also sang at the event, held in tandem with the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ at the Royal Albert Hall.
The traditional closing concert at the Royal Albert Hall featured such flag-waving favourites as Elgar’s ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ and Sir Hubert Parry’s ‘Jerusalem’, and it was screened live to events up and down the UK.
The 118th Proms season began on 13 July and included performances of all nine Beethoven symphonies by Daniel Barenboim and his West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
