The Lady Gaga ‘ArtPop’ album has debuted at number one in the USA with sales of around 260,000.
Gaga comfortable leapt to the top spot of the US chart over Eminem but was over 800,000 sales down on first week figures of her last album ‘Born This Way’. The 2011 ‘Born This Way’ sold around 1.1 million it in week one but mostly because of a cut-price download offered for the week.
Eminem slipped back to number two in America with 207,000 sales of ‘The Marshall Mathers LP2’. The album debuted last week with sales of 780,000 giving it total two weeks sales just short of 1 million.
The Beatles also returned to the US chart this week with a Top 10 debut for ‘On Air Live At The BBC Volume 2’. Jhene Aiko ‘Sail Out’ EP also debuted this week in the US Top 10.
