Lady Gaga paying tribute to the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music turned out to be an Academy Award highlight.
Gaga was introduced by Scarlett Johannson and then performed ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘My Favourite Things’, ‘Climb Ev’ry Mountain’ and ‘Edelweiss’.
Julie Andrews then walked in stage to hug Lady Gaga.
The Sound of Music won five Academy Awards in Best Picture and Best Director for Robert Wise, Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing and Best Music, Scoring of Music – Adaptation or Treatment for the soundtrack.
Sony Music will release the 50th anniversary edition of the soundtrack featuring every song from the movie on one album for the first time on March 13, 2015.
