Lana Del Rey hits number one, and Leonard Cohen and Van Halen buffet Adele on this week’s ARIA Chart.
Could Adele’s run be finally over? Hypester Lana Del Rey’s debut Born To Die has hit number one on this week’s ARIA chart, and Leonard Cohen’s Old Ideas actually bumped Adele’s 21 down to number three.
And coming up the rear, so to speak, is Van Halen’s first Diamond Dave album in almost three decades A Different Kind Of Truth at number four.
The next new entry this week is Paul McCartney’s Kisses On The Bottom at 25, then Hermitude’s Hyperparadise at 37, and John Denver’s The Ultimate Collection scraped in at 50.
Tours brought the best of Pink Floyd back in to 29, Feist back in at 44, Evanescence’s new self-titled album at 45 and Icehouse’s hit collection White Heat at 49.
A couple of big movers this week in Rod Stewart’s Storyteller up from 24 to 10 and Ed Sheeran’s + up from 25 to 14.
After a bump last week, both Boy & Bear and Gotye slipped back down to just inside the 20.
On the singles chart, Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones’ holds the top spot, but there are a couple of big movers in Qwote’s ‘Throw Your Hands Up’ from 28 to 13 and Gym Class Heroes ‘Ass Back Home’ debuts at 17.
Madonna’s ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’ with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj debuted at a lowly 25, but that won’t include a full week of Super Bowl hype.
