A.B. Original will perform on the Laneway Festival for 2017.
A.B. Original will release the album ‘Reclaim Australia’ soon. The first single is ‘January 26’ featuring Dan Sultan.
A.B. ORIGINAL is the collaboration between BRIGGS (Album of the Year recipient at the National Indigenous Music Awards 2015) and TRIALS (ARIA Award winning producer for Drapht, Illy, Hilltop Hoods, Seth Sentry and The Funkoars among others).
The other Laneway news is that Auckland has a new venue, Albert Park. Laneway’s Mark Kneebone explained to the NZ Herald, “Nine years ago when we first started planning the festival, the plan was always to use Albert Park, Princes St and parts of the university. For a whole lot of reasons we didn’t”.
“What makes this site so beautiful is what makes it so hard to put a show in here. There are a lot of native trees, a lot of things you need to work around, and a lot of stakeholders,” he said.
The new Albert Park site is 50% bigger than Silo Park and will take 12,000 punters.
