Jason Bonham is no longer fronting his “Led Zeppelin Experience” but the changes, which were requested by the three surviving members of Zeppelin, aren’t as bad as might have been guessed.
Bonham has been using the “Led Zeppelin Experience” since 2010 but it seems that the real Zeppelin wants to use that phrase for something within their 50th anniversary activities this year, so they asked Jason to give it up.
Jason was OK with the idea but he told them he really needed to keep whatever he called his tour with the JBLZE moniker as he had already had a logo designed and had an expensive backdrop made.
Bonham soon hit on the solution, changing the last word to make it “Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening”.
Jason is the son of the late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham and played with the three surviving members when they reunited in 2007 for one show saluting Atlantic Records Ahmet Ertegun.
The now named “Led Zeppelin Evening” includes Bonham and his band playing over a dozen Zeppelin classics, recreating the original arrangements as close as possible.
Bonham and his band are playing on the Sail Across the Sea cruise from March 7 to 11 followed by a tour of Australia and New Zealand. They return to the states for a two month trek starting in June.
