Lily Allen demanded “pics or it didn’t happen” after Rita Ora posted a tribute to late singer Prince.
The singer was found dead at his home in Minnesota on Thursday (21Apr16), aged just 57. Following his tragic passing, celebrities flocked to social media to post tributes, among them Rita.
Rita worked with the music legend on his 2015 hit Ain’t About 2 Stop, and shared a lengthy post on her Twitter page remembering the icon.
“This is coming from a place I never new existed in my heart. You were so special to me your presence the music we created the dance-off’s we used to have the laughing we shared,” she wrote.
“The funk oozing out of you was un-controllable (sic). I’m not quite sure what to do with myself but I will miss you forever and always. I love you my dear kind friend.
“May all my prayers go to his family the whole band (you know who you are, I love you all so much) anybody who felt even one little bit of what I was lucky enough to experience face to face, and let us keep alive the one thing he knew would last forever, his music. I love you P. I will never forget you. Love your Rita.”
One person who was quick to respond to Rita’s post was her peer Lily, who wrote a simple: “Pics or it didn’t happen.”
Many of Rita’s fans blasted her for the comment, with one even accusing her of being a “jealous flop b**ch”. However, Lily then clarified her remark, insisting it had been misinterpreted.
“I didn’t mean that in a mean way, I’m just jealous you were so close to my idol. #superfan #ritabots go IN,” Lily replied, using the collective noun for Rita’s devoted fans.
