Lily Allen’s friends are said to worry she’ll destroy her career with her partying.
The British singer used to be known for her wild ways, but stepped away from the party scene when she married Sam Cooper in 2011 and started a family.
She has two little girls, Marnie and Ethel, with Sam, but the 30-year-old has recently been seen out drinking more and more. The behaviour is said to have concerned those around her.
“Lily is in danger of partying herself off the edge of the cliff and into oblivion” a source told British magazine Grazia.
Last month Lily was seen enjoying the vibe at London’s Notting Hill Carnival, smoking a suspicious looking cigarette.
Despite her US contemporaries like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna endorsing smoking weed, America comes down hard on drugs. Lily is said to want to launch herself in the US, but her team are reportedly worried it might not work out.
“Lily is a very gifted songwriter and performer – there is no doubt about that. The fact she is desperate to have a career in the US to rival Rihanna or Katy Perry makes her behaviour incomprehensible,” the source said.
“She has talked about relocating to Los Angeles. But the Americans take zero-tolerance towards drugs to the degree she is jeopardising her entry into the country. Even the likes of Nigella Lawson and Kate Moss have had big issues with this after their own media ‘drug scandals’.”
The people she’s hanging out with are apparently not helping matters either. Lily and Sam were seen out together for the first time in months at the carnival, along with their daughters, but many believe their marriage is in trouble.
“Several people in her team have tried to reason with her but she is out of control. The sad thing is she cannot see it, all she can is a lot sycophants around her telling her how cool she is,” the insider sighed.
