Linkin Park, Lana Del Rey and 360 the three acts competing for the number one album this week.

For singles it’s a race between the top two tracks for the past two weeks as to whom will win this weekend on the ARIA Singles chart, as Nico & Vinz with “Am I Wrong” have been selling strongly enough to claim the top on several digitals sales charts, although “Que Sera” for Justice Crew has been selling well over the weekend, so at the moment it’s a close race for the top spot.

Tove Lo with “Stay High” and Sigma with “Nobody to Love” sat at twelve and eleven respectively this week, and both songs could jump into the Top 5 this weekend, joining another European act Mr. Probz with “Waves”, whilst ZHU might jump back up from this weeks No.10 with “Faded”. Also retaining their Top 10 status could be Sheppard, Ariana Grande with Iggy Azalea (solo also) and Sia.

The Madden Brothers jumped from 65 to 28 this week with “We Are Done”, and this week it could leap again, possibly to within the Top 15, as too The Vamps with “Somebody to You” (49 to 23), whilst Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N’ Potions” (TW-20) could also be within the fifteen this weekend. Coldplay’s visit here and their making of the video for “A Sky Full of Stars” (TW-33) in Sydney (plus performing the song on Graham Norton last weekend) could all help the song back up into the Top 20.

Bonnie Anderson could not only land the highest new entry of the week, but also score her first Top 50 hit (she hit #55 in late December 2013 with “Raise the Bar”) as her new single “Blackout” is on track for a Top 30 entry. Also entering within the same region could be the new track for Maroon 5 “Maps” and another song lifted from ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ soundtrack could come via Charli XCX with “Boom Clap” in the same area, whilst Austin Mahone and Pitbull could also jump up into the thirty with “MMM Yeah” (TW-39).

“All of Me” (TW-38) for John Legend and “Say Something” (TW-62) for A Great Big World could rise back up due to them being sung on The Voice this past week, and the debut from this week by Benny Tipene and “Make You Mine” (New TW-88) could leap into the Top 40, whilst climbing back into the fifty could be Will.i.am with Cody Wise on “It’s My Birthday” (TW-65), with Taylor Henderson on track for a Top 50 debut with his new single “Sail Away”, as too Stan Walker and Ginny Blackmore with their former New Zealand No.1 single “Holding You” (NZ #1 April 2014) and Andy Grammar with his new song “Back Home”.

Last August RUFUS reached No.65 with “Sundream” which could return to the charts this weekend, it’s the bands official new single and has been gaining airplay and video play the past couple of weeks. Jeremih looks set to return with his third ARIA Singles chart entry as “Don’t Tell ’em” featuring YG along with Nicole Scherzinger and “Your Love” could both score a Top 60 debut, whilst climbing into the sixty could be the new Birdy song “Not About Angels” (New TW-63), KYA with “What I Live for” (re-entry TW-78) and Lorde’s “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” (New TW-76).

deamau5 scored his first ever ARIA Singles chart entry this week when “Phantoms Can’t Hang” which snuck in at No.97, and this week he might score his second entry as “seeya” could land a Top 80 entry, whilst the re-issued London Grammar song “Wasting My Young Years” (HP-98, Sept 2013) could also return within the same chart area.

Kim Cesarion could re-enter with “I Love This Life” (HP-87) after dropping out this past week, and further new entries could come via the new 5 Seconds of Summer EP for “Don’t Stop”, the track “Wrapped Around Your Finger” (NOT the Police song) selling well, along with Lennon & Maisy (two young actresses from the TV series ‘Nashville’) with “That’s What’s Up”, Thelma Plum with her debut entry “How Much Does Your Love Cost?”, the funky and light Hedley with “Crazy for You” (NOT a cover also) and just outside at the moment is the new Milky Chance single “Flashed Junk Mind”.

Albums:
It’s a race for the No.1 spot with several major albums this week, but the current leader is Lana Del Rey with her third album “Ultraviolence”, followed closely behind by 360 with “Utopia” and the new Linkin Park set “The Hunting Party”.

The seventh studio album for deadmau5 came out on Tuesday and has been selling very well, entitled “while (1<2)” (the name of the album is a programming language reference, meaning “to loop indefinitely”), which could also become a Top 10 or even higher entry this weekend. Coldplay’s current visit here should keep “Ghost Stories” flying high, whilst also retaining their Top 10 status should be The Amity Afflictions #1 debut from this week, the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack, Jack White, Sam Smith and there’s a possibility that ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Soundtrack (TW-11) could climb into the Top 10.

The new Jennifer Lopez album “A.K.A.” could debut within the Top 20 whilst the fourth UK #1 album for Kasabian entitled “48:13” (the title stands for the length of time that the album runs for) and the latest for Tiesto called “A Town Called Paradise” could both enter within the Top 30. Keith Urban’s national tour should keep his “Fuse” (TW-22) lit within the Top 30 and drag his collection “The Story So Far” (TW-90) into the Top 40, whilst also jumping into the forty could be the Queen collection “Greatest Hits” (TW-71) thanks to their Sunday Night story and pending August tour.

Lower down we could see the TV Soundtrack for “Game of Thrones Season 4” enter whilst the group Swollen Members could debut with “Brand New Day”, both within the Top 60. We should see The Angels retain a couple of chart entries, whilst the recently departed Jim Keays from The Masters Apprentices could land an entry with one of the bands’ compilations. There’s also the possibility that Body Count could enter the charts with their new set “Manslaughter”.
