Lisa Mitchell has completed her third album ‘Warriors’ and has set a release date for October.
Lisa had a platinum selling album with her debut ‘Wonder’ when she was 17. She is now 26. “This album is personal,” says Mitchell. “There’s a lot of thinking about my own kind of mythology – of myself, my life, why things are the way they are. And a lot of it is to do with childhood.”
‘Warriors’ was released at Sydney’s Hercules Studios in Surry Hills with drummer Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley, St. Vincent), bassist Rob Calder (Angus & Julia Stone/Passenger), and regular guitarist and collaborator, Tim Harvey (who also co-wrote with Mitchell in pre-production) to back Mitchell’s songs.
The video for ‘The Boys’ was filmed in Lisa’s hometown Albury with Melbourne based director Luci Schroder. “Albury was such a beautiful back-drop to begin the story of my new album. It is a nod to my childhood, something I drew from a lot during the writing of this album,” says Lisa.
‘Warriors’ will be released on 14 October, 2016.
