Annie Lennox has launched a live video performance for ‘I Put A Spell On You’ in the lead-up to the release of her new album ‘Nostalgia’.
“I’m delighted to release the first live video performance from Nostalgia – the sublime I Put A Spell on You directed by Natalie Johns, the first of several to come.” says Lennox
I Put A Spell on You – now available as an instant grat on iTunes – was premiered on Radio 2 earlier this week and is a preview of what is to come from Annie Lennox’s forthcoming 12-track, Nostalgia album.
Produced by Lennox and frequent collaborator Mike Stevens, Nostalgia is a collection of the legendary singer-songwriter’s impassioned takes on iconic American compositions that still continue to resonate in our complex contemporary world, songs like Memphis In June, Strange Fruit, I Can Dream, Can’t I? and God Bless The Child. Paying tribute to some of the finest composers and artists of the 20th century, including Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and Billie Holiday, Annie interprets compositions that have moved her, stripping them down to their emotional and musical core and making them her own.
Nostalgia will be released by Island Records on October 21, 2014.
