The Occupy This Album compilation is coming soon, featuring Yoko Ono, UNKLE, Mogwai, Tom Morello, Ani Di Franco and 94 more artists.
It seems a little bit late to be putting together a compilation for the Occupy Wall Street movement, since we suspect the protests and interest may have peaked. Then again, since nothing has been done to enact any kind of financial equality yet, maybe it’s worth picking up and supporting.
Okay, Occupy This Album will reportedly feature 99 songs (in the digital version, y’know, for the 99%) and 78 (in the physical version across four CDs), and will be released on May 15, with proceeds going to the Occupy movement.
Acts on the album include Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Yoko Ono, Mogwai, Ani DiFranco, Willie Nelson, Amanda Palmer, Jackson Browne, UNKLE, Yo La Tengo, Matt Pless, Thee Oh Sees, Our Lady Peace, Jay Samel, Debbie Harry, Anti-Flag, and documentarian agitator Michael Moore.
