Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty has a brand new song titled ‘Trust You’.
‘Trust You’ is the first taste of the third Rob Thomas solo album ‘The Great Unknown’ coming later this year. It will be the first solo album for Thomas since 2009.
‘Trust You’ is different for Thomas. For starters he has branched out and collaborated as a songwriter for the first time with this record. ‘Trust You’ was co-written by Ryan Tedder on OneRepublic.
“We’re both songwriters, we’re around the same age—he’s a little younger. We hit it off, we had a lot of the same ideals,” Thomas told ew.com. “He was kind of the only person on my list. He was the first person on my list and he was really hard to get”.
Thomas expects to reform Matchbox Twenty in 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the first album ‘Yourself of Someone Like You’.
