Wendy Matthews is about to release ‘The Welcome Fire’, her first album of new, original material in over 10 years.

Wendy’s last new and original material was on her 2001 album ‘Beautiful View’. She then released two albums of covers ‘Café Naturale’ in 2004 and ‘She’ in 2008.
For ‘The Welcome Fire’ Wendy is co-writing with many of Australia’s great new songwriters including Washington, Josh Pyke, and Mark Sholtez.
The album was produced by John Castle, best known for his work with The Drones and The Cat Empire.
‘The Welcome Fire’ will be released through Robert Rigby’s Fanfare Records on August 23.
