in News

Liz Phair will mark the 25th anniversary of her debut when she tours Australia for the first time in 2019.

‘Exile In Guyville’ was not a success by any means. It peaked at no 196 in the USA but still achieved 491,000 sales. 491,000 sales today would be reserved for number one albums.

Phair was in her mid 20s when she released ‘Exile In Guyville’. She had written the songs in 1991 and recorded the early demos on cassette. The tapes made their way to Brad Wood of Matador Records who liked the sound and signed her. The album was recorded during 1992 and released in 1993. Matador released an expanded version of the album this year to mark the anniversary.

Liz Phair Australian dates 2019

SYDNEY Friday 8th March – Oxford Art Factory
MELBOURNE Monday 11th March – The Croxton Bandroom
BRISBANE Tuesday 12th March – The Triffid
