Music fans were evacuated from the site at around 3:30pm when the storm warning was issued for the region. The crowd is reported to have calmly taken shelter in nearby cafes, shops and restaurants and returned when it was safe to come back.

The storm knocked out power to around 170,000 people in the area.

Fans were allowed back to the festival site at around 6pm and finished off the night with performances from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bloc Party, fun, Franz Ferdinand, Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean and Santigold.
