New Zealand’s Lorde and Australia’s Hiatus Kayote and Tame Impala will represent Australia and New Zealand at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
This year Melbourne’s Gotye won three Grammy Awards and for 2014 the South Pacific region is relying totally on 17-year Auckland, New Zealand singer songwriter Ella Yelich-O’Connor (aka Lorde), Perth’s Tame Impala and Melboourne’s Hiatus Kayote to represent the region.
Lorde is up for Record of the Year for ‘Royals’ against songs from Daft Punk. Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke and Song of the Year against Pink, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
She has also been nominated for Best Solo Pop Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Hiatus Kaiyote Featuring Q-Tip has been nominated for ‘Tawk Tomahawk’ for Best R&B performance.
Tame Impala ‘Lonerism’ is up for Best Alternative Music Album.
