Lou Reed and Metallica have given fans a whole song as a teaser to their upcoming collaborative album, ‘Lulu’, due at the end of October.

The song ‘The View‘ appeared on the pair’s official Soundcloud page, where a 30 second preview and a 90 second preview have surfaced in the last week or so.
There’s hardly anything worth reviewing. The song sounds like Metallica with Lou Reed singing over it. It’s exactly what you would expect, with the exception of James Hetfield taking claim to being a table.
The move isn’t particularly surprising from Lou, who has made a career out of pissing off his fans (look at ‘Metal Machine Music’). Actually, if I’m perfectly honest, I don’t hate it – although that’s as close as a positive comment I have to make. A whole album of this though? I’ll save my ears the trouble come October 31.
