U.S. television star Roseanne Barr has added her voice to the Lorde Israel controversy calling the New Zealand popstar a “bigot”.
“Boycott this bigot: Lorde caves to BDS pressure, cancels Israel concert,” the 65 year old Barr said of the 21 year old New Zealander Lorde in a Tweet.

Barr’s comments were unfair to the young singer who grew up half a planet away from the problems of the Middle East. While Barr may have had many experiences with the culture clash, Lorde has had next to none.
Lorde cancelled her Israel show after receiving a lot of confusing suggestions from people around the world. “i’ve received an overwhelming number of messages & letters and have had a lot of discussions with people holding many views, and i think the right decision at the time is to cancel the show,” she said in a statement.
Barr, on the other hand, comes across as an arrogant loud-mouthed yank butting into something that is frankly none of her business.
Being controversial is good for Roseanne Barr’s career right now. She is about to resurrect her 80s sitcom ‘Roseanne’ and right now needs all the publicity she can get. Lorde was just seven months old when the show went off the air in May 1997.
