Lynyrd Skynyrd cancelled their Tuesday night concert at Artpark in Lewiston, NY after guitarist Gary Rossington suffered chest pains.
The band posted the news on their website:
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s performance at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on July 19th has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule the show in the near future.
Founding member and guitar player, Gary Rossington, is seeking doctor’s evaluation in Atlanta after experiencing some chest pains. Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume their tour once Gary is cleared by medical professionals. We will advise as soon as we have additional information.
Skynyrd has since cancelled their Thursday night show in Hyannis, MA but dates on Friday in Boston and Saturday in Big Flats, NY still appear to be on sale.
Rossington has had heart problems since 2003 when he had a quintuple bypass. Last October, he suffered a heart attack and underwent surgery to insert and replace stents.
Gary is the only member of Lynyrd Skynyrd that has been with the band for their entire history.
