French synth stars M83 offer £3000 for fans to produce a video for next single ‘Steve McQueen’.
The band/man released their/his sixth studio album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming late last year and now call on creative fans to dream up a video for the next single ‘Steve McQueen’.
As for constraints, the only thing ringleader of M83, Anthony Gonzalez, says is “It’s not about the actor!”
He’s doing it in collaboration with Genero, and they’ll both pick the best interpretation of the song, which will become the official video for the song and net the producers £3000 or equivalent. Sounds like a relative cheap way of doing things…

‘Steve McQueen’ is the third single from the album, following ‘Midnight City’ being Pitchfork’s Song of 2011 and hitting number 5 in triplej’s Hottest 100, and the second single ‘Reunion’.
