Machine Head Cancel Shows

Machine Head are down two shows after lead singer Robb Flynn came down with a “severe throat infection”.

The problems started on Thursday (February 15) when the band cut their regular 24 to 25 song set to just seven at the Stage AE in Pittsburgh after Flynn’s voice came out. He explained the situation in a Facebook video:

They followed with the full cancellation of their Friday (February 16) Cleveland performance, saying “Robb is going to a throat specialist today to find out the status of the infection, and what, if any other shows will be affected. Promoters and agents are looking into all options to reschedule the date towards the end of the tour, or to a later date, we will keep you posted.”

Their Saturday (February 17) show in Detroit was the next casualty with the Majestic Theatre telling concert-goers Machine Head will be back at the Majestic Theatre this Fall to reschedule their Detriot date. … We wish Robb a speedy recovery and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

The band, who is on the road promoting their new album, Catharsis, which was released on January 26, are next scheduled to play Woolys in Des Moines, IA on Tuesday (February 20), the first of five straight nights of shows.
