British ska-pop icons Madness have a new album on the way, featuring a host of producers.
Madness are having a hell of a year. Not only have they played Coachella, V Festival, iTunes Festival and Meltdown, but they performed on the roof of Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, and were front and centre at the closing ceremony of the London Olympic Games.
As they wind up for more touring, what better way to celebrate by releasing a new album of catchy reggae, ska, 2-tone and pop? Their tenth studio is titled Oui, Oui, Si, Si, Ja, Ja, Da, Da, and is the first time they’ve worked with a series of producers to help create originals.
No heritage act, the last two albums from the lads in 2005 and 2009 hit number 11 and number 2 on the UK charts respectively.
They’ve already previewed the dubby new tune ‘Death Of A Rude Boy’ as a free download on their site here and the whole album will be released on Cooking Vinyl through Shock in Australia on November 9.
