The story of seven of Madonna’s dancers from her Blond Ambition world tour will be told in the upcoming movie ‘Strike A Pose’.
Madonna plucked each one from obscurity after holding auditions in Los Angeles and New York. They were all in their early 20s and they were all nearly all gay.
According to the movie synopsis, “In 1990, seven young male dancers – 6 gay, 1 straight – joined Madonna on her most controversial tour. On stage and in the iconic film Truth or Dare they showed the world how to express yourself. Now, 25 years later, they reveal the truth about life during and after the tour. Strike a Pose is a dramatic tale about overcoming shame and finding the courage to be who you are”.
The movie tells the story of Luis Camacho, Oliver Crumes, Salim Gauwloos, Jose Xtravaganza, Kevin Alexander Stea and Carlton Wilborn with occasional glimpses of Madonna from archive footage. Madonna is not involved in this new production.
‘Strike A Pose’ premiered at the Berlin Festival in February and will have a more general release in cinemas around the world in May.
