Google has added a new, fun ‘Easter Egg’ for Christmas. Type Let It Snow into your Google search engine and watch what happens.
It is the latest ‘Easter egg’ from Google following the fun ‘Do a barrel roll’ earlier this year.
When you type in Let It Snow, your screen will begin to snow until it goes completely white. But don’t worry, Google has also given you a defrost button.
The original song ‘Let It Snow’ was written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne in 1945. They actually wrote it in July during a heatwave. ‘Let It Snow’ was first recorded by Vaughn Monroe who had a number one hit it in 1946.
‘Let It Snow’ is commonly considered a Christmas classic although the song doesn’t mention Christmas at all.
It has also been recorded by Frank Sinatra (1950), Bing Crosby (1956), Smokey Robinson (1963), Doris Day (1964), Andy Williams (1965), Dean Martin (1966), Chicago (1998), Michael Buble (2003), Jessica Simpson (2004), Neil Sedaka (2008) and Kylie Minogue (2010).
