Former Soft Cell frontman Marc Almond will release on E.P. in 2014 featuring Jarvis Cocker and The Libertines’ Carl Barat.
Almond went into the studio with legendary producer Tony Visconti to record the four track E.P. Visconti is best known for his work over decades with David Bowie including Bowie’s most recent release ‘The Next Day’.
Visconti also produced T.Rex and Almond pays tribute to Marc Bolan of T.Rex on the E.P. on the song ‘Death of a Dandy’.
Jarvis Cocker in on ‘Working Me Now’, a song he wrote for Almond. He sings backing vocals on the track.
Barat contributes to ‘Love Is Not On Trial’. Like the Cocker track, Barat wrote the song for Marc Almond and contributes guitar and vocals to the track. Both Almond and Barat worked together in 2012 in the opera ‘Poppea’ in Paris.
Marc Alond will release the E.P, on February 10, 2014. A complete album will follow later in the year but will not include any of the songs from the E.P.
