Rolan Bolan, the 38-year old son of T-Rex legend Marc Bolan and Motown singer Gloria Jones, is working on his debut album.
The album ‘Electric Sunset’ is being produced by Dito Godwin (No Doubt, Kiss, Motley Crue) and is planned for release soon.
Rolan was 2-years old when his dad died in a car accident at the age of 29, just 2 weeks before his 30th birthday. David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart were just some of the names who attended the funeral.
Rolan Bolan has been working in an inner circle of famous rock star’s kids. He is friends with Roy Jr and Alex Orbison, the sons of Roy, Zoey Bonhman, daughter of Led Zep’s John Bonham and Planet and Sierra Swan, the daughters of Billy Swan, who also do backup vocals for him.
Marc Bolan was also a mate of Ringo Starr. Starr and Bolan made the movie ‘Born To Boogie’ together and Ringo only allowed the DVD release recently if Rolan was involved.
Producer Dito Godwin has been recording both electric and acoustic versions of the songs. Rolan has also been playing shows in Los Angeles with Dito’s son Bernie.
The upcoming single from the album is a song titled ‘Trust’. The tracks ‘Should I Forget To Mention’, ‘Once In My Life’ and Up To Me’ have already been made available via iTunes.
